Mass., Maine chefs in James Beard Award finals

Chefs from Massachusetts and Maine will compete as finalists in the 2015 James Beard Foundation Awards competition.
The five finalists for best Northeast chef this year are: Karen Akunowicz of Myers + Chang in Boston; Barry Maiden of Hungry Mother in Cambridge, Massachusetts; Masa Miyake of Miyake in Portland, Maine; Cassie Piuma of Sarma in Somerville, Massachusetts; Andrew Taylor and Mike Wiley of Eventide Oyster Co. in Portland, Maine.
Guy Reuge of Mirabelle in Stony Brook was a semifinalist this year, as he was in 2014 and 2010.
James Beard award winners will be announced May 4.
