Is the DIY pizza trend slowing? Pizza Studio, one of four design-your-own-pizza chains that have established beachheads on Long Island, has closed its lone location in Farmingdale.
The shop was located between Panera Bread and Chipotle in Airport Plaza.
Pizza Studio’s décor was more modest than its competitors — PizzaRev (four LI locations), Blaze Pizza (three) and Piecraft (two) — although it had the greatest variety of crusts: traditional, rosemary herb, whole grain and flaxseed, firecracker, gluten free.
The company was founded in 2013 and based in Calabasas, California.
Now, the only two New York State locations are in Brooklyn and the Bronx.
