As the Hamptons season gets cookin’ this weekend, you may want to stop at 1 North Steakhouse in Hampton Bays, a place that Peter M. Gianotti calls “unaffected and unHamptoned.’’ Its steaks are good, too.

Ciro’s Italian Restaurant in Kings Park serves up better-than-average Italian appetizers like clams oreganata, writes Joan Reminick in this week‘s Cheap Eats. It also has “delectable’’ bone-in chicken a la Ciro’s — bone-in poultry with sausage, potatoes, onion, peppers and broccoli.
