At the new Trodos in Westbury (pictured, above), the food from the attractive open kitchen draws on the cuisines of Greece, Turkey, Cyprus and the Middle East. One dinner that Joan Reminick thought good was kicked off with tender, smoky grilled calamari with cucumber vinaigrette. She gives the restaurant one and a half stars.
At last, Bar Frites has opened in Greenvale, and Peter M. Gianotti says it was worth the long wait for this bistro-brasserie to open. He especially likes the steak tartare and the pan-seared halibut and awards the restaurant two and a half stars.
