Ty Kotz, executive chef at Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton, is leaving the restaurant for South Carolina.

When culinary impresario Tom Colicchio opened the luxe-locavore restaurant in September 2012, Kotz was his chef de cuisine. Together, the two men earned four stars from Newsday’s Peter Gianotti, and Kotz was soon promoted to executive chef.

In his absence, the kitchen will be overseen by Kyle Koenig, a former sous chef at Colicchio & Sons in Manhattan and, for the last year, Topping Rose's chef de cuisine. His wife, Jessica, is the restaurant's beverage manager.

Colicchio continues on in his role as “chef / operator,” and there are no plans to change the direction of the menu.
