Guy Reuge of Mirabelle at the Three Village Inn in Stony Brook and Gerry Hayden of The North Fork Table & Inn in Southold are among the semifinalists for best chef in the northeast in the annual James Beard Foundation Awards competition. Both restaurants earned four-star ratings in Newsday last year.

 

Chefs from 20 restaurants are semifinalists in the category. The list was chosen via open-call online polling. Five finalists in each of 19 categories will selected by 400 critics and food professionals. The finalists will be announced on March 22 in New Orleans; the awards are given on May 3 in New York.
