Mirko's is one of my favorite Hamptonians: excellent food, charming style, service to match both. Adding to the appeal, the restaurant has just reopened for spring and summer, offering two fixed-price menus to go with the a la carte fare.
The two-course meal is $30.95; the three-course, $35.95. The choices include red snapper, shrimp and bay scallops in a tomato-fennel broth, with basil-infused Israeli couscous; goat cheese-and-roasted tomato ravioli, finished with tomato, basil and pancetta; and a pan-roasted chicken breast with Spanish olives, capers, roasted lemons and Yukon Gold mashed potatoes.
The regular menu keeps such winners as stuffed cabbage Croatian-style, a braising with sauerkraut, cabbage and tomato; a duck-confit spring roll; asparagus risotto; spice-rubbed Long Island duck breast with a wild-rice griddle cake, plum compote and orange-honey-pomegranate sauce.
The fixed-price menus are available Thursday and Sunday, 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; and on Friday, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., excluding holiday weekends. The restaurant is now open for dinner Thursday through Sunday.
Mirko's is at 670 Montauk Hwy. at Water Mill Square, Water Mill; 631-726-4444.
