Muse Restaurant and Aquatic Lounge (yes, that's the full name) is making a Hamptons dinner affordable with a $24.95, three-course, fixed-price affair.
Chef Matthew Guiffrida's stellar spot serves full-flavored fare seasoned with imagination and whimsy. It's always fun, invariably very good or better.
His hits include "tuna palooza," or four different preparations of tuna; and "not ya mama's meatballs," or a quartet of interpretations of the classic. The meatballs are available on the fixed-price menu, as are choices including chicken potpie and apple-barbecue pork chops.
Guiffrida also is joining with his sister Shari and sister-in-law Angela, who also are chefs, to produce an "All in the Family" dinner at the James Beard House in Manhattan. The March 12 event will feature some a-Muse-ments, as well as courses such as escolar Milanese, "inside out New England clam chowder" in the form of a pan-seared cake, and Patagonian toothfish zeppole, wherein Chilean sea bass meets a doughnut. Call 212-627-2308 to reserve.
Muse currently is open Thursday to Sunday for dinner, 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. It's situated at 760 Montauk Hwy., in the Water Mill Commons center on the north side of Route 27 in Water Mill; 631-726-2606.
