Sunday will be last day you’ll be able to eat at the Silver Pheasant, which has been around for 44 years — the first 39 in West Babylon, the past five in Lindenhurst.
The family owned restaurant is closing because of the loss, two years ago, of matriarch Patty Montelone Oleaga, whose husband, Larry, and children — Chris, Matt, Dom and Tammie — have tried to carry on. Hard economic times and corporate competition, said Chris Oleaga, have made it impossible to stay open.
On the traditional Italian menu: Chicken Parmigiana ($12.95), lasagna ($9.95) and linguine with white clam sauce ($10.95).
Silver Pheasant is at 216 W. Montauk Hwy., Lindenhurst, 631-957-3580.
