MAKE A PUB CRAWL

An 1888 fire shaped the corner of Route 25A and New York Avenue in Huntington. That's one of the tidbits you'll learn during a historic walking tour of Huntington village, led by town historian Robert Hughes. Hughes also stops at three pubs -- often Canterbury Ales, Meehan's and Finnegan's -- that have historical significance and offer drink specials. Tours start at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays through August from 228 Main Street. Reservations required ($10, 631-427-7045, huntingtonhistoricalsociety.org). Credit: Handout

Every Tuesday, it's “tap and app” night at Finnegan’s Restaurant & Tap Room in Huntington.

That means that a $5 appetizer roster is offered along with $3 pints and $12 pitchers of such brews as Lessing’s Local Ale, Lessing’s Local Blonde, Blue Moon, Miller Light and Samuel Adams. Among appetizer options: Buffalo wings, chicken fingers, nachos rancheros, spinach and artichoke dip, and roasted red pepper bruschetta.

Finnegan’s, which marks its 100th anniversary in July, is reputed to be the oldest continuously operating bar in Huntington.

Finnegan’s Restaurant & Tap Room is at 5 Wall St., Huntington, 631-423-9696.
