It hasn't been easy for the many fans of HBO’s hit series “True Blood,” having to wait until June 2013 for the next season to start. But on Oct, 31, anyone attending the Halloween party at the Middle Country Beer Garden in Centereach (1702 Middle Country Rd., 631-696-1111) can get a “taste” of “Blood” starting after 9:30 p.m.

The tavern’s “True Blood Halloween” party will feature many of the amenities sought from most Boo-Day bashes, such as DJs spinning dance-worthy beats, a wide selection of adult beverages (this spot specializes in offering unusual beers) and a masquerade contest — with the Beer Garden’s battle granting prizes for such costume categories as “best male,” “best female,” “scariest,” “sexiest” and “best 'True Blood' look-alike.” However, as for the night’s TV show inspiration, it does not come from the customers, but rather a duo of special guests.

It just so happens that the evening’s hosts are actresses that have appeared in episodes of “True Blood”: Brianna Brown (she played Leda, an exotic dancer from the fairy nightclub) and Natasha Alam (who played Yvetta, also an exotic dancer role, but from the show’s vampire club “Fangtasia”).

Tickets are available in advance at (the price is $10, but it could go up, and it might be more at the door). But if you'd rather go for free, be sure and donate blood during the month of October, as anyone who does so can exchange proof of donation for a comp ticket online (also at For more information, check out
