Come Thursday, Long Island is set to welcome a new nightlife option to the scene: the Middle Country Beer Garden of Centereach.
In a collaboration between Long Island club impresario Greg Pranzo (of marketing firm AListStatus.com) and Mulcahy’s owner John Murray Jr., the (now-former) eastern branch of the two Mulcahy’s club-style sports bars will be reborn as The Middle Country Beer Garden (MCBG) -- and while the Wantagh location remains as is, this space is set to change names, while holding on to some of its identity.
For example, fans of the country-night “Country Club Thursdays” need not worry as the event will continue as is. But in the switch to becoming a beer garden, the brew menu is expanding to carry a wide selection of craft beers, imports and drafts. Furthermore, in the spring an outdoor patio and stage will become part of the available environment.
MCBG will also continue the tradition of musical acts, big name DJs and celebrity hosts – with the new-look venue featuring a Friday night performance from pop singer Sabi (best-known for her single with band Cobra Starship “You Make Me Feel”), which will be followed on Saturday night by an appearance from actor Jaleel White, the man who starred as “Steve Urkel” on the ABC-TV series "Family Matters."
The opening weekend will cost $10 to enter, but save special events the nights are scheduled to run cover-free. Days of operation will be Wednesday-Saturday 4 p.m.-4 a.m. For more info, head over to middlecountrybeergarden.com or facebook.com/mcbeergarden.
