By day, there's a DJ spinning for a bikini-clad crowd dancing on the beach or a clubby brunch soiree with a four-figure price tag. After dark -- way after dark -- the action heats up at ultraexclusive nightspots, where the only way in is to buy your liquor by the bottle so you have a reserved spot.

Yes, this is summer clubbing in the Hamptons. Here's a look at the season's biggest draws so far, along with our ranks of just how difficult and expensive it generally is to get in the door.

Day & Night at Gurney's Inn, 290 Old Montauk Hwy., Montauk

The Scene Although not a weekly happening, this afternoon club party brings in guests from around the globe -- in part due to the fact that this event has been held in locales such as Cannes, Monaco, St. Tropez, Manhattan and Miami. Dress is trendy casual. Expect loud dance beats. The next event is July Fourth weekend, and organizers promise some eye-candy: a bottle of Dom Pérignon Rosé Luminous delivered by a sky diver who will parachute into the party. Price tag: $25,000.

The Cost The minimum average price for a table is $2,500.

The Scene A hotel, restaurant and party spot that's open to all -- if you're in-the-know. The crowd skews hipster, even celebrity at times. Beastie Boy Mike D., for example, hosted a fundraiser there Memorial Day weekend, entertaining a casual crowd gathering around a sandy court of picnic and Ping-Pong tables.

The Cost There's no cover charge during day-to-day business, and even most events are free to enter -- but, of course, you'll pay the going Hamptons rate for cocktails and fare from the restaurant.

Pink Elephant, 44 Three Mile Harbor Rd., East Hampton

The Scene The East End outpost of the Manhattan staple returns to the Hamptons this year, taking up late-night residency on summer weekends and holidays at Sienna Restaurant & UltraLounge. The transformation from restaurant to clubby lounge starts at 11 p.m., when dining tables are broken down to make way for the well-dressed masses who come for pumping dance music.

The Cost Table service is $1,500-$5,000.

The Scene On the other side of the same address, SL East has the bigger space, with more room to dance to celebrity DJs. Need a break? There's a patio complete with daybeds, a bar and -- thankfully -- open air.

The Cost Tables start around $1,500, topping out at $11,995 if you want a 15-liter bottle of Moet & Chandon Imperial Champagne.

Southampton Social Club, 256 Elm St., Southampton

The Scene A favorite for nightlife events and meals alike, the Club has a regal dining space, a massive courtyard with cabanas and a large deck that tends to get crowded.

The Cost At night, cabanas require a two-bottle minimum (expect to spend about $1,000, on average), but there's free range elsewhere in the space.

The Scene A spot known for its popular DJ-driven parties; expect a night where everyone is dancing like crazy -- on the floor and the furniture.

The Scene Actors, models and musicians tend to show up here. The party crowd is dressy, with some holdovers from dining hours.

The Cost Bottles of bubbly start at $350 for the late-night club scene, but here's an idea: get a late dinner reservation and just stick around.

The Scene It's mostly a restaurant, but a pub area up front that spills into the sidewalk and deck seating is already making this newcomer a popular part of the summer circuit.

Neptune Beach Club, 70 Dune Rd., East Quogue

The Scene In business since 1989, Neptune's is a Long Island summer fixture. It's back in the familiar business of bringing in celebrity DJs to spin progressive house music to entertain the hundreds of scantily clad clubgoers who happily line up to party in the sun during Saturday afternoons and for other special occasions.
