As the calendar days roll toward May, it may be time to start thinking about Cinco de Mayo.

For those among us planning to party on May 5 (or during the weekend leading to May 5, as this year the holiday lands on a Monday), proper preparations will almost certainly include a search for the perfect bash -- but if you feel that settling for simply one spot just won't cut your ‘Mayo mustard, perhaps a bar crawl would be better suited to your style.

If so, there’s an event taking place on Saturday, May 3, that may be worthy of your consideration -- a multi-venue march that will involve several of the hot spots situated in The Village of Farmingdale.

Dubbed the “Drink'o De Mayo Bar Crawl,” it will allow partakers to receive drink specials from six different village venues, with an hour spent at each; participating locations include the Nutty Irishman (323 Main St., 516-293-9700), Caracara Mexican Grill (354 Main St., 516-777-2272), Last Call (385 Conklin St., 516-293-2068), Library Cafe (274 Main St., 516-752-7678), Croxley Ale House & Eatery (190 Main St., 516-293-7700) and Wild Wild West Saloon (185 Main St., 516-586-6525).

Tickets are required to get access to each stop’s specials, and can be purchased online in advance for $25 -- or pay $30 and receive a sombrero to wear while you wander (tickets will also be available at the event for $30, $35 with sombrero).

The event, for those 21 and over only, runs from noon-6 p.m.; for more information, visit the crawl planners at
