For those who have missed Long Island’s (up until recently) longest-running venue featuring country music, it looks like a second chance is in the works as Matty T’s Roadhouse in Deer Park is announcing it will reopen for business Nov. 3.

The word has spread via Facebook and on the honky-tonk’s website, and a sign on the club’s storefront (placed over a realty sign) stating plainly: “Matty T’s is open for business”  and “under new management.” According to, the Thursday reboot will feature DJ Neil and Sandy leading a dance party (and lessons) after 7 p.m. (cover is $10), while Friday will bring The Grand Central band to the stage at 9:30 p.m., following more work from DJ Neil kicking in after 8 p.m.

Those looking for something at Matty’s that's a little less country and a bit more rock-and-roll should come by Saturday at 8 p.m. for a live band and DJ playing classic rock tracks from the 1970s to the 1990s.
