Free shows for those affected by Pine Barrens brush fire

Now that the severe brush fires that broke out this past week in the Pine Barrens are under control, many Long Islanders are starting with recovering.

Burning 1,124 acres, the blaze made several firefighters and emergency personnel put their lives on the line, while others lost home and property to the intense flames. Now that the process of healing and rebuilding has begun, The Paramount concert venue in Huntington has extended a special offer to anyone who was affected by the terrible happenings.

On Friday, April 13 and Sunday, April 15, The Paramount is inviting all emergency workers, rescue workers and residents who are dealing with Pine Barrens fire damage can take in a show at no charge.

The Friday show features the legendary, long-time jazz fusion band Spyro Gyra (doors open at 7 p.m) while the Sunday night performance is co-headlined by hard rock groups Clutch and Hellyeah (doors at 6:15 p.m.).
