Get to know The Tap Room in Patchogue

By now, it's no secret to fans of PeraBell Food Bar in Patchogue that this venue moved eastward to 69 Main St. back in November 2010, but only recently are we seeing what has become of its former digs at 114 W. Main -- and this time around it's a whole new scene.

Since its soft opening in mid-April, The Tap Room of Patchogue is in line with some of the other newer specialty beer bars that have popped up along the stretch from Merrick Road to Route 27A (like Left Coast Kitchen & Cocktails in Merrick and The Cortland in Bay Shore), offering a wide menu of craft brews that regularly rotates and changes. Here, the sudsy stars get poured via three "towers" that each hold five rotating beers: the "Blue Point Tower" (featuring a selection from the nearby Blue Point Brewing), the "Global Tower" (imports) and the "American Tower" (yes, all hailing from the USA).

In addition, there is frequent live music Thursday through Saturday and Mondays -- and your hunger can be addressed as well by two blackboards that list current eats (expect pub grub like wings, sandwiches, burgers and chicken fingers).
