Social Sports Lounge & Kitchen, a sports bar and grill in Hempstead, has an impressive deal going for fight fans this Saturday night.
It's an open bar for $25 from 10 p.m.-1 a.m. for UFC 121 featuring Brock Lesnar, the mixed martial arts promotion's biggest pay-per-view star. He's defending his UFC heavyweight championship belt against No. 1 contender Cain Velasquez. Watch the entire PPV event -- at least five bouts -- on one of the 20 TV screens. Or, mingle with the crowd and watch each fight on a different screen.
The suggestion here is to get there early - before the preliminary fights start at 9 p.m. on Spike. UFC fans tend to travel in packs. The second suggestion here is that you kindly designate a driver and drink responsibly.
You may remember Social Sports Lounge & Kitchen as Chrebet's, which opened a few years back. You may remember Chrebet's as the replacement for the college bar Bogart's.
Former "Top Chef" contestant Danny Gagnon is the executive chef, and the place is owned by former Jets receiver Wayne Chrebet.
If a crowded bar isn't your thing, but you don't want to sit home and watch the fights, you can also attend one of the three UFC 121 screenings at Long Island movie theaters.
