Although the winter of 2012-2013 is still an all-too fresh memory for many Long Islanders, it’s hard not to begin thinking about what the summer will bring – especially in The Hamptons – as the South Fork is annually transformed into a celebrity-driven, party-minded international hot spot between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

While the complete details of what’s new, what will return and what’s history are still yet to be fully revealed, inklings of the upcoming season have starting to appear – so here is a sampling of what has already been announced, opened and closed in the Hamptons this year so far – and while for year-round residents some of this may not be new information, these are definitely buzz-worthy tidbits for those among us yet to explore the East End nightlife scene in 2013:

-- According to the Southampton Social Clubs website, the restaurant and nightspot (256 Elm St., Southampton, 631-287-1400) will be open for business by early April.

-- The confusion between Agave's Rum & Tequila Bar and Lounge in Westhampton Beach (142 Mill Rd., 631-998-4200) and Agave Bar & Mexican Grill in Bridgehampton (1970 Montauk Hwy., 631-237-1334) has been solved as the BH restaurant and bar has re-dubbed itself “Mercado Mexican Grill & Tequila Bar.”

-- The Sloppy Tuna (148 S. Emerson Ave., Montauk, 631-647-8000) looks to open 2013 in signature style with a bikini contest slated for Memorial Day Weekend.

-- Ruschmeyer’s (16 Second House Rd., Montauk, 631-668-2877) is already taking reservations for the summer, and plans to open on May 22.

-- Tide Runner’s (7 North Rd., Hampton Bays, 631-728-7373) has announced on Facebook it’s looking at a May 3 open.

-- Dockers Waterside (94 Dune Rd., East Quogue, 631-653-0653) already opened for business on March 15.

-- Neptune Beach Club (70 Dune Rd., East Quogue, 631-653-8737) has a large flier on its Facebook page exclaiming “Back to the Beach: MDW (Memorial Day Weekend) 2013.”

-- The Brown-Harris-Stevens real estate group sign in the windows of 103 Montauk Hwy. in Wainscott reads “Exclusive Commercial Building For Sale,” likely indicating the departure of the Hamptons Players Club.

-- A restaurant called “Madison & Main” is under construction at 126 Main St. in Sag Harbor (formerly the location of the now-defunct New Paradise Cafe), and is due to open in early April. Although it will mainly be an eatery, a peek from the sidewalk reveals both a bar component and a cocktail menu, which includes a “Spicy Tequila Gimlet,” a “Sag Harbor Triple Rum Punch” and a “Sour Mash Fresh Mint Julep Smash,” all set for $12.

SALT Waterfront Bar and Grill (63 S. Menantic Rd., Shelter Island, 631-749-5535) has been hinting online about its upcoming opening, while Claudio’s of Greenport (111 Main St., 631-477-0627) has already started its 143rd season in business (really! It first opened in 1870) as of March 21.
