We keep waiting and waiting for the winter to die down. It snows, gets a little warmer, snows again ... Lucky for us one pub in particular has decided to override this season's blustery blues with a little a bit of Polynesian inspiration.
Come Saturday, Feb. 26, McFadden's Rockville Centre is presenting an "Indoor luau party" -- a bash set to heat things up with festivities and inexpensive libations. Watch for drink specials on summery mai tais, Coronas and other adult beverages as well as atypical bar games like hula hoop and limbo contests.
Doors open at 6 p.m. with the drink specials in effect until 11 p.m. Expect the crowd (and competitions) to start ramping up after 9 p.m. for a (younger-ended) 21-and-over crowd, with no cover for guests who gussy up in grass skirts and Hawaiian shirts ($5 without).
