Shake off your winter blues with the acoustic strings and vocal jazz sounds of Hot Club of the Hamptons Sunday afternoon in Greenport.
Inspired by the legendary Quintet of the Hot Club of France, the group - Steve Watson on bass, Bob Stern on violin, Peter Weiss on guitar and singer/songwriter Ken Komoski leading vocals - formed last May.
These four seasoned musicians from the Hamptons are a featured performance of Winterfest's "Jazz on the Vine" series, which will be their first public performance.
Komoski, who organized the group, described their music as "swing style."
"It's kind of chamber music jazz. It's string instruments. No drums. Not a big sound. It's a kind of relaxed kind of swing," he says.
And relaxation is just what we need to usher in spring.
WHEN/WHERE 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Peconic Landing, Brecknock Hall, 1500 Brecknock Rd., Greenport.
