On May 22 a quartet of DJs will begin to spin at 8 p.m. at KJ Farrell's in Bellmore, dropping tracks from the '80s and '90s; even the promise of some freestyle is part of this promotion, K.J.?s ?Throwback Tuesdays.? (Jan. 15, 2010) Credit: Donna Alberico

Although it usually rolls under a rock vibe, K.J. Farrell’s will be bringing beats to Bellmore.

Located directly across from the Bellmore LIRR station, K.J.’s isn’t normally considered a spot to find dance music. The décor placed over its exposed brick walls consists of posters featuring The Doors and other guitar-powered bands, but on May 22 a quartet of DJs will begin to spin at 8 p.m., dropping tracks from the 80s and 90s; even the promise of some freestyle is part of this promotion, K.J.’s “Throwback Tuesdays.”

The evening will be further enhanced by some live performances, with Huntington’s Kristen Ardito opening for renowned dance music star singer Reina ("Find Another Woman," "No One's Gonna Change You," "If I Close My Eyes").

Cover is $10 at the door, with guests asked to dress in clothes reminiscent of the 80s-90s club scene in order to possibly win a free bottle of Grey Goose vodka (so everyone who still has that pair of Z Cavaricci pants sitting in the back of their closets, this could be a big day). All who pay admission will be entered into a raffle for such prizes as a tanning package, a snowboard or tickets to a Mets or Yankees game.
