Do you like classic films and food?
If so, catch the $25, three-course dinner and movie deal in Sag Harbor before the series -- The Picture Show at Bay Street -- ends next week.
The series, which has shown classic movies for more than five years between September and May, will screen "My Sister Eileen" Friday night, "Gypsy" on May 7 and "The Graduate" on May 13. All films start at 8 p.m. Tickets ($5 for movie only) include complimentary popcorn.
"It's a great thing to do off-season in the Hamptons," says Tim Kofahl, Bay Street's director of marketing and publications. "There are generations of people who haven't seen classical films. Families share it, and it's great for generations to see what we all have in common in the human condition."
One thing we all have in common is eating. So the partnership with The American Hotel, located across the street from the theatre, for a three-course dinner was a no-brainer. Patrons are advised to make reservations and will receive their film tickets at the hotel, following dinner.
The prix-fixe menu for Friday and Saturday is:
Veloute of spring celery soup
Salade Hongroise: Cabbage, potato, lardons, vinaigrette, pimenton and horseradish .
Sauteed Scottish salmon with vermouth
Veal a la Printaniere
Penne primavera (vegetarian)
Select berry dessert
