September can be somewhat of an adjustment period for those Long Islanders who enjoy partying outdoors — especially as the month’s summerlike temperatures tend to keep things hot enough to make open-air affairs still feasible.
Nonetheless, by the time October arrives, most happenings that count on warm weather will be shuttered until at least mid-2015 — with one of those doings being the weekly “Liquid Mondays” get-together held at Woodbury Country Club (884 Jericho Tpke., Woodbury, 516-692-6200). It’s wrapping its 2014 run following a final bash set for Monday, Sept. 8, in an evening that is to host a hefty slate of entertainment tailored for a mature crowd.
Starting at 6 p.m., the last night for Liquid this season will offer live music from several acts, including appearances by classic disco singer Carol Williams (“More”) and freestyle performer Aaron Hanson of Hanson & Davis (“Hungry For Your Love”), all as part of a booked roster consisting of almost a dozen singers and bands. In addition, there is to be comedy (from such comedians as Greg “The Greek” Kritikos, Mark Brier and Mike Keegan) and dance beats from a number of DJs (including Mickey B, AKA the “Prince of Rock & Roll”).
