Now that fall semesters at local colleges are underway, area students are already getting back to dealing with such mundane-to-unpleasant realities as the daily hunt for parking spots at school, the buying of textbooks, regular homework and steady sessions of studying – not to mention the stress associated with just having to get out of bed every morning.
However, those among the undergraduate set that like to party can also expect an autumnal upswing of college nights at pubs and clubs -- and on Thursday, Sept. 18, a program of such weekly shindigs will kick off at Aura Light & Sound Suite in East Meadow, with the preliminary evening to be hosted by model and MTV star Melanie Iglesias.
Currently serving as a panelist for the above-mentioned cable network’s social mores show “Guy Code” and as the bailiff on its mock courtroom comedy, “Guy Court,” the 27 year-old Brooklyn-born starlet first found mass acknowledgement as the winner of Maxim magazine’s 2010 “Hometown Hotties” model search. Since that time, she has accumulated well over a million likes on Facebook and more than a few million views for her many YouTube clips, while images of her face and body are available in massive quantity via a quick Google search of her name.
She’ll be appearing as part of the grand opening for the “RUSH Thursdays” soiree series, an affair that will also feature DJs Teaze, Marco Cee and Fotsbeats spinning for an 18-and-older crowd. Cover is $10; doors open at 10 p.m. For more information, visit aliststatus.com and facebook.com/aliststatus. Dress to impress.
