Molly Bloom's closed again, re-opening again

It was only about a month ago when Molly Bloom's returned to the scene …

On November 11, 2011, radio commercials made the announcement while Facebook messages and texts flashed from mobile device to mobile device: the space once home to Molly Bloom’s in Smithtown was re-opening its doors — and that weekend, it did.

Yet, shortly after those first days the doors closed again, an action soon followed by the red-glowing “Molly Bloom’s” sign that had adorned the storefront even before the venue had been closed the first time…was the nightclub already shutting down again?

Not so, as ownership has confirmed. As it turns out, the current owners also count the very-busy Artful Dodger bar and club in Huntington as a property, and looking to transfer some of its success there, Molly’s is (as of this writing) set to also become an “Artful Dodger” location.

The latest “grand opening” is set for Saturday, December 17 starting at 9 p.m., for a 21-and-over crowd with DJ Mark J set to spin club music fo no cover (dress to impress). The ‘Dodger has been drawing strong weekend numbers for many months -- so if the Huntington crowd heads out to celebrate the re-titled space, there’s a good possibility things will be getting interesting (again) at Molly's, albeit under a new moniker.
