The Bamboozle Road Show at Nassau Coliseum and the summer line-up at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater bring huge outdoor concerts to Long Island. But if you don't have tickets to see these headline acts, there are plenty of free outdoor shows offered at area parks, restaurants, wineries and other venues almost every night of the week.
Starting next Wednesday, June 30, and offered weekly throughout the summer, Harbor Links Golf Course in Port Washington offers an outdoor summer music series. Barry Waller, pictured, who frequently plays the North Fork wineries and other area locations, will be performing at 5 p.m. at the Harbor Links Grill. Expect a cover song list of familiar favorites, free and open to all ages.
The Smithtown Library on N. Country Road is another venue offering a roster of outdoor shows Thursday evenings on the front lawn. Big Shot, a Billy Joel tribute band, performs next week, with additional upcoming concerts by bands covering the Rolling Stones, Eagles and Beatles, among other rock greats.
