Mustache madness in Ronkonkoma

For a couple of hours Sunday, the major attraction at Karts Indoor Raceway in Ronkonkoma became a mustache vending machine.

For 75 cents each, men, women, boys and girls, there for a go-kart birthday party (me, too), bought one of the "Funky Face Disguises" and compared notes. Some traded. They pointed at one another and laughed. Or walked around as if wearing their own facial hair.

One father became agitated when he realized his little Toothbrush mustache blew off while doing a lap on the adult track. He later found it on the bottom of his shoe.

Despite the much cheesier picture, the machine at Ralph's Italian Ices in Farmingdale has nothing on the Karts' machine.

There's a lot of vending machine competition at Karts. There's a Silly Bandz vending machine as well as a Care Bear vending machine. And still the 'staches won this weekend, as you can see from this photo gallery.
