This onetime post office has remained a mainstay of a town that has a bustling nightlife.
LAYOUT: The biggest drawback to this room is that the bar (there's only one) runs along its east wall. It's long enough, but with a slender space between the dining area and the counter, this place can get completely jammed -- meaning trips to the restroom or backdoor can take five to 10 minutes.
THE CROWD: During happy hour, you'll see more 30- to 40-year-olds mixing in, but as the night rolls on the age starts skewing younger.
BOOZE: Considered by many to feature the Island's best happy hour, it runs from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday with discounts on appetizers. On Fridays, however, the event goes gigantic from 3:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. with half-price drinks and a complimentary buffet. Otherwise, you'll always be good to go with beer, shots, wine and martinis at any time ($3-$10).
FOOD: During the day, the bar plays second-fiddle to dining, with families and friends enjoying large-portioned burgers and other grilled plates, as well as soups and salads -- with entrees averaging $13-$25.
TUNES: House system, occasional DJs and live music.
Open daily, 12 p.m.-4 a.m.
