When it comes to live music on Long Island, the demand continues for retro artists, especially from the dance scene. In 2011, performers such as TKA, George LaMond, Judy Torres, Corina and Lisette Melendez drew big crowds to venues in Nassau and Suffolk counties – and now in 2012, following a show from 90s R&B star Deborah Cox in January, this month sees singer Shannon make her return.

On Feb. 17, the woman whose songs from the early 1980s “Let The Music Play” and “Give Me Tonight” remain club and radio classics will take the stage at Four Food Studio in Melville sometime after 8 p.m. In addition, resident DJ Mark J will spin his usual mix of old school and new school beats, while ladies get half-price drinks from 9 -11 p.m.; no cover at the door.
