Saturday is likely to be a very busy day on the East End, as several nightclubs and social spots will be throwing special bashes to mark Memorial Day weekend and the unofficial arrival of the 2014 summer season.
However, for those who simply can't wait that long to get their personal parties started, Sole East in Montauk is launching two days earlier than much of its competition, doing four straight days of celebrating, and kicking off its festivities before the actual weekend begins.
An popular stop come the warm weather, this upscale East End hotel, restaurant and evening hangout is opening its Hamptons holiday revelries with live music – first on Thursday with reggae act Winston Irie and the Selective Security Band starting at 9 p.m., and then on Friday, with an 8 p.m. set from acoustic rockers Jettykoon.
The next Sole soiree takes place on Saturday, and stars DJ Faze, who will spin in the afternoon (1-6 p.m.) and evening (starting at 10 p.m.) as part of an affair that invites attendees to lounge by the venue’s pool – an amenity that can also be enjoyed on Sunday, as DJ VH1 is slated to do a similar split-time session (2-6 p.m., 10 p.m.-late) – but he'll be following the East’s Sunday brunch, an almost three-hour engagement (11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.) also featuring jazz and bossa nova singer Ludmilla and her accompanist, Marcello Pimenta.
Dinner service will be available daily throughout the holiday weekend starting at 5:30 p.m.; for reservations and more information, visit Sole East online at soleeast.com.
