It’s a fairly tedious notion to rehash how cold the past few months have been, especially knowing that it’s still pretty frigid outdoors right now, only a couple of weeks from the Spring Equinox — but Long Island nightlife peaks when the temperature rises, so getting word from the Fire Island summer spot Surf’s Out that it’s already planning its 2014 inaugural events is not just worthy of note but perhaps even a bit inspirational, if not mood-lifting.
According to an emailed reminder from the Kismet eatery and party stop, it will officially open its doors on Friday, May 2, and then throw its annual Pig Roast on Saturday, May 3. Tickets for the cookout will be put on sale in April via surfsout.com, and although details for this year’s happening have yet to be announced, last year there was live music and line-dancing (priced at $40-$45). In addition, the ‘Out will also be holding a “Cuatro de Mayo” affair on Sunday, May 4, its Cinco de Mayo bash that goes a day earlier; details for this doing are also pending.
