If heading to bars and clubs is something you’re either not accustomed to doing, or you are saving your eventual appearance on the nightlife circuit for a special circumstance, “Thanksgiving Eve” (Wednesday, Nov. 22) could be the right night to get you out and about. With almost everybody on the Island home for the holidays and off from work on Thanksgiving, Long Island’s hot spots rise to the occasion every year by throwing big parties that often do huge business.

Here are some Suffolk County selections for pre-Turkey Day parties (call ahead for cover charges and more information):

Wall Street: 573 Nesconset Hwy., Hauppauge 631-656-6550

Theo Pisani (AKA DJ Theo) is currently Long Island’s biggest celebrity selector, with a dedicated crowd of fans and a successful mix series (“Nervous Nitelife: Summer Clubbing” volumes 1-4), so anticipate a heavy turnout as he headlines this T-Eve bash starting at 9 p.m. Tickets are available online for $20 at, likely more at the door. Dress to impress.

Agave's Tequila Bar & Lounge: 142 Mill Rd., Westhampton Beach, 631-998-4200

Blue: 7 Montauk Hwy., Blue Point, 631-363-6666,

DJ/Producer Dimitri Tee (AKA “Dimitri”) has a heavy following on Long Island and has worked clubs in major cities around the country. He’ll be delivering a session of uplifting beats, with an opening set by Dennis Patrick, starting sometime after 8 p.m.

Napper Tandy’s: 15 East Main St., Smithtown 631-360-0606,

Often-recognized from their efforts during the MTV network’s “Ultimate Cover Band” contest, The Zoo performs regularly throughout the Tri-State area. Along with DJ Loki, the high-energy band will be in the place to entertain starting after 9 p.m.
