“No talking yet,” Aida Turturro told us the first time we passed her shopping her heart out Saturday at the Southampton Fresh Air Home Decorators-Designers-Dealers Sale and Auctions Benefit Gala. At this cocktail party -- where decorator furniture and home décor is sold at rock bottom prices -- no one talks to each other in the beginning.

By 7 p.m., after shopping two hours without stop, Aida collapsed into a chair. “I’m exhausted. It just hit me,” she announced. Accustomed to her routine, the press, who had waiting for this moment, descended. This is her ninth year, and she’s only gaining spending momentum. “I bought three couches in four minutes,” she told video personality Nicole Brewer. “You gotta move fast"

“I look forward to this event,” she continued, echoing the sentiments of many. “I’m a little psychotic about it. I even got a massage to prepare!”

She’s furnished her own home by now, and those of countless friends. These days she has to ask around to find new spaces that need her bargains. “My friend Mary has a new guest house. I have another friend with a new home in the city,” she enumerated from her long list. Montauk neighbors always are recipients of her generosity. “It’s for the camp, so I’ll give it to somebody,” she said. “It’s a lot of fun, and the kids really benefit.”
