Planning to head out for Valentine's Day, just you and your sweetie? If so, mature couples should keep in mind that the average lounge or pub is often dominated by wigwagging sweaty singles frequently “putting their hands up” as the DJ commands it to be so (for those yet to visit a nightclub, it’s not an uncommon occurrence) -- and for some twosomes, the notion of a romantic rendezvous backed by loud, bass-booming club beats just may not be a match for any intended amorous expectations.
On the other hand, it’s easy to assume a passionate pair of people might want to boogie with gusto -- so for those folks seeking a couple-friendly party on Friday, Feb. 14, The Coral House in Baldwin will be throwing a bash that may be worthy of note.
Starting at 7:30 p.m., the lakeside event space will be hosting its annual “Red Ball” -- a four-hour soiree centered on a three-course meal (which happens to include a dessert called the “Heart-Shaped Chocolate Indulgence”). Priced at $150 per couple, the fee also includes an open bar, a large dance floor and live music provided by cover band The Mystic.
