Most Long Islanders know that rock legend Billy Joel is a local – and that he doesn’t do many shows anymore. Meanwhile, though, fans of his sound can enjoy the incredible facsimile band known as Big Shot.
Also hailing from the Island, the act is led by Miller Place-native Mike DelGuidice and has been lauded for its renditions of Joel classics (as well as occasional hits from other artists) by Billy Joel himself, who has taken to the stage with Big Shot.
The band will be heading up to perform in Connecticut on Friday, Nov. 18, but this weekend will perform two shows on Long Island.
On Friday, Nov. 11, Big Shot will perform at The Nutty Irishman of Farmingdale at 7 p.m. as part of the venue’s weekly five-hour Friday Happy Hour (3 to 8 p.m.). In addition to Big Shot, DJ Cory P will also mix during breaks and – naturally – there will be several drink specials.
On Saturday, Nov. 12, Big Shot takes it back to DelGuidice’s hometown, taking the stage at Napper Tandy’s of Miller Place starting at 10 p.m.
Cover charges are yet to be announced.
