The third annual Great Food Truck Derby takes place Friday, at the Hayground School in Bridgehampton. More than a dozen trucks will be in attendance, including Blondie’s Bake Shop (cupcakes), Crazy Crepe Cafe, Eat Me Drink Me (poutine and hand-cut fries), Hampton Coffee Company Mobile Espresso Unit, Morris Grilled Cheese and Noah’s (crispy oyster po’boy sliders).
Drinks will be provided by Brooklyn Brewery, Southampton Publick House, Lieb Cellars, Harney & Sons and Sweet’tauk, among others.
Proceeds will benefit the Hayground “schoolyard projects," which provide culinary arts training for local children.
A ticket is $65 and includes one tasting from each truck and three drinks. A children's ticket (for ages 12 and under) is $20 and includes four truck tastes and a nonalcoholic drink. A limited number of VIP tickets are available ($100), entitling the bearer to two hours of exclusive tastings of Good Water Farms microgreens, Illyrian Press Albanian olive oil and Holy Schmitts horseradish. Palo Santo restaurant (Brooklyn) and Wölffer Estate Vineyard will be offering samples, as well.
The derby runs from 4 to 7 p.m. For more information, or to purchase advance tickets, click here. The Hayground School is on Mitchell Lane, Bridgehampton.
