This Memorial Day weekend, Wildfish in Freeport is going all out with an all-American $25 backyard barbecue prix fixe and a roster of red, white and blue drink specials.
Chef-owner Brad Rubano’s three-course dinner kicks off with a spring chopped salad or New England clam chowder, followed by a choice of entree: a lobster bake (1 ¼ pound lobster, mussels, clams, steamers and boiled new potatoes), barbecue-style baby back ribs, blackened rib-eye steak or grilled mahi-mahi. Traditional accompaniments include corn on the cob, house-made cornbread and potato salad (made with bacon and hard boiled egg). For dessert, there's apple strudel, blueberry crumb cobbler or cherry pie.
Wildfish is also giving away the first drink of summer for free (with coupon) during happy hour, 3 to 7 p.m. To get your coupon, go to the restaurant’s website or stop into The Pit Stop in Merrick (also under Rubano family ownership).
Wildfish is at 507 Guy Lombardo Ave., Freeport; 516-442-0565.
