Decorated in surf memorabilia, Half Moon Cafe has opened in Long Beach, a casual cafe and bar in the East Park Avenue spot that used to be Biddy Mulligan’s. The mid-sized restaurant offers seating inside and outside, with planters framing sidewalk tables.
Happy hours highlight weekdays, with drink specials from 3 to 7 p.m. and a $6 food menu of wings, frickles (fried + pickles = frickles), nachos, clams and spring rolls. More substantive dishes on the lunch and dinner menu include burgers, sandwiches, tacos and quesadillas that run from $7 to $10 for appetizers, $10 to $15 for entrees.
Weekends usher in the $8.95 brunch menu of huevos rancheros, bacon, egg and cheese on a baguette, omelets and hangover burgers. For $14, tack on a few rounds of beer or mimosas for a two-hour “bottomless” session.
Half Moon Cafe also features plenty of TVs, Tuesday night trivia and live music on weekends.
Half Moon Cafe is open from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. every day.
