Tickets for the second annual "Harvest" auction and fundraiser, which runs from Labor Day weekend to Sept. 16 and 17, are on sale now.

Proceeds from the auction benefit East End Hospice, Group for the East End and Peconic Land Trust. Sponsors: the Long Island Merlot Alliance and the Long Island Wine Council.

The highlights include dinners for 10 to 12 diners hosted by an East End winemaker and prepared by a local chef at residences in the Hamptons, on the North Fork and on Shelter Island on Sept. 16; and behind-the-scenes educational "salons" about winemaking on Long Island. There also will be tastings of barrel samples of wines from the exceptional 2010 vintage. The gatherings conclude with a "Harvest Moon Gala" and live auction of wines at Ludlow Farm.

Tickets for the wine salons on Sept. 3, 10 and 17 are $25; the Sept. 16 dinners, $350; the Sept. 17 wine tasting, $125; and the Harvest Moon Gala, $275, $350 or $500 per person. Tom Schaudel, of A Lure in Southold,  A Mano in Mattituck and CoolFish in Syosset;  Noah Schwartz of Noah's in Greenport; and William Holden  of West End Cafe in Carle Place, are slated to prepare the dinner. The event is chaired by Roman Roth, winemaker of Wolffer Estate in Sagaponack, and executive vice president of the Merlot Alliance.
