Beer geeks rejoice: Long Island’s first growler-filling station-craft-beer retailer-tasting room-home-brew supply store opens tomorrow in Patchogue at noon. The Hoptron Brewtique aims to fill all those roles, plus serve a small menu of beer-friendly bites. According to Amanda Danielson, who owns the business with Succety Lara, “We’re neither a bar nor a retail shop, but a mixture of both.”

The front area of the spacious establishment is devoted to supplies for the home-brewer, the center to a long bar with 16 brews on tap. “We’ll always have about nine Long Island beers,” Danielson said. “The emphasis is super local.”

Among the initial offerings are Blue Point Brewing Company’s Old Howling Bastard, Greenport Harbor Brewing Company’s Leaf Pile Ale, Port Jeff Brewing Company’s Port Jeff Porter and Ithaca Beer Company's Cascazilla. Patrons can enjoy a pint; compare and contrast by ordering flights, or fill up a growler. (About 200 bottled craft beers will also be sold, singly or in mixed six-packs, for consumption at home.)

Then there are the picnic tables at the back where you can nibble on artisanal cheeses provided by Erin Nicosia's American Cheese in West Sayville, fancy grilled-cheese panini, soft pretzels with fancy dips, popcorn with rosemary-infused butter and sea salt or a pesto-Gorgonzola “Brewtique Crustique.”

Hoptron Brewtique is at 22 W. Main St., Patchogue, 631-438-0296.
