New to the Patchogue restaurant scene is Hoshi Sushi & Hibachi, an offshoot of the 13-year old Hoshi Sushi in Stony Brook.
Owner Jie Lin said the new place is bigger as well as more modern than the original. There are eight hibachi tables and both a bar and sushi bar. For those opting to pass up the pyrotechnics of the hibachi area, there's dining room seating on the other side of the restaurant.
On the menu: a rainbow roll ($11), chirashi ($18), scallop teriyaki ($15.95) and a salmon hibachi dinner ($18) that includes clear soup, green salad, a hibachi shrimp appetizer, hibachi vegetables and steamed white rice.
Hoshi Sushi is at 35 W. Main St., Patchogue, 631-627-8090.
