Michael Ross, who earned a two-star rating for Bel Posto in Huntington last year, has left the restaurant. He's catering on the East End through the summer.
Ross made the announcement about his departure on facebook, where he added he's "working on a very special new project" for the fall.
The sous chef at Bel Posto, Estesban Hipolito, currently is running the kitchen. The menu is unchanged. Bel Posto's selections include cured meats, Italian cheeses, roasted cured pork loin, porcini-rubbed sirloin, farfalle with pork ragu, ricotta gnocchi, lasagna, amaretto cheesecake, tiramisu and olive oil-and-almond cake.
Earlier, Ross was chef at the departed Gabrielle's in Rockville Centre and Jedediah's in Jamesport.
