The Stone Turtle, an ambitious new eatery in Island Park, is enticing diners with an $8 fixed-price lunch special today and tomorrow. The deal is $10 as of Friday.
Chef Gregory Baumel's offerings include beef-and-barley soup, three-cheese ravioli, a crisp sesame-chicken wrap and a Maryland crab version of a po'boy sandwich.
The restaurant's dinner menu includes a tuna "tartini," sake-poached oysters, a "burger board," with beef, bison, salmon-and-crab, turkey and antelope among the burgerees; surf-and-turf spring roll; cumin-crusted pork chop jambalaya; four-cheese-and-wild-boar lasagna; pot pies; paella; and hanger steak frites. There's an all-chocolate dessert grouping, plus gelati, sorbets and fruit.
