It was a sultry evening on Friday, but not an unpleasant one, and I was wandering around Huntington Village with a wish: to sit outside and have a big bowl of pasta.
Wish granted by Jonathan’s Ristorante, all of whose outdoor tables were, unaccountably, open. I didn’t bother with an appetizer, dove straight into the pasta, the daily special: tagliarini with lobster, corn and artichokes. This, along with a nice Ligurian white, was a perfect summer supper. Entertainment was provided in the form of seemingly all of Huntington Village wandering by. (My pal had some good seared scallops, but the accompanying sformato was somewhere between a bread pudding and a hocky puck.)
