If you’ve always wondered what it’s like on the other side of the sushi bar, Kashi in Bellmore can get you slicing and rolling away.
On Nov. 6, the restaurant is hosting a Sunday sushi-making class for 50 guests. The restaurant’s master sushi chef will demonstrate how to mix sushi rice with vinegar, how to cut fish and how to assemble sushi and sushi rolls. Then six sushi chefs will teach and supervise as guests make their own sushi.
The restaurant will set up tables for varying size groups so you can learn along with friends and family. The sushi bar will be available for students who come alone.
You must bring your own 8- to 12-inch chef’s knife, but all other ingredients and tools, as well as soft drinks, will be provided.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and costs $48. Seating is limited (no kids younger than 12), and reservations are strongly suggested. For tickets, call 516-590-7776.
