La Bistecca is a recent addition to Valley Stream's menu of restaurants.
The newcomer is staffed by veterans of the now-closed Branzino in Lynbrook.
Main courses include bistecca alla Fiorentina ($34), as well as a dry-rubbed rib steak in a Port reduction ($26). The seafood takes in baked Dover sole (market price), sauteed calamari ($26) and, of course, branzino either baked or grilled (market price).
The house's pastas include duck ravioli ($19), rigatoni with broccoli rabe and sausage ($19) and pappardelle Bolognese ($18). The restaurant also offers a bar menu, with dishes $13 to $17.
La Bistecca is open every day for dinner and Monday to Friday for lunch.
