Sunday was the weekend pop-up for Liege Waffle Co. at A & G Bakery in North Babylon, where Tyler DiFebo runs a fledgling business pressing waffles and outfitting them with crazy toppings. Did you get yours?

In other food news, the oldest restaurant in Montauk, Trail’s End, has a new owner who will open a new restaurant called The Tauk at Trail’s End by Memorial Day. And Jue Lan Club in Southampton is to debut the same weekend.

Over in Jamesport, here’s hoping that the 11th time is a charm as Jedediah Hawkins Inn gets yet another new chef. In less grand digs, North Fork Shack has opened in Southold.

Consider reading the review before heading to Bar Louie in Commack and add the spirited Slurp Ramen in Port Jefferson to your restaurant rotation.

Stay tuned this week for our picks for the best dishes to order at the Italian chains. Also on the front burner: Cinco de Mayo is May 5 and Mother’s Day is Sunday.
