If reminiscing about the last time you dined at a Turkish restaurant makes you hungry, the time may be right to learn to cook this kind of food at home. The Turkish Cultural Center of Long Island is offering cooking classes on Thursday at 6:30 p.m., and, subsequently, on Dec. 4 and Dec. 18. Classes are $25 each and may feature such dishes as guvec (a Turkish stew), fried cauliflower and Turkish pudding with strawberries.

To sign up, email info@tccli.org  or call 347-323-6740. The Turkish Cultural Center of Long Island is at 770 Grand Blvd., Suite 8, Deer Park.
