Long Island’s annual Arts Alive LI Festival runs through Oct. 31, with dozens of cultural events at area galleries, stages and cinemas. The culinary arts have not been ignored. Among the events scheduled are:

Oct. 5, noon to 4 p.m.
A Taste of Port Jefferson: More than 30 area restaurants — including Graceful Rose, C’est Cheese, Pace’s, The Fifth Season — offer samples of their specialties. $45 in advance (go to atasteofportjefferson.com) , $50 at door.
Port Jefferson Village Center, 101 E. Broadway, Port Jefferson.

Oct. 16, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The Quarterly Carousal : Market Bistro hosts a happy two hours with locally made snacks and Brooklyn Brewery’s new Cuvée La Boite, a spiced, Belgian-inspired beer. The event is free.

Oct. 22, 7:30 p.m.
Healthy Snacking: Debbie Sunshine, Long Island’s “Vegan American Princess” blogger, discusses healthy snacks for kids and adults. $15, $10 for Sid Jacobson Community Center Members.

Oct. 24, 7:30 to 10 p.m.
Roots Bistro Gourmand harvest dinner: The farm-to-table restaurant serves a six-course meal highlighting seasonal produce. $100. Reservations required.

Oct. 25, 6 p.m.
Guy’s All-American Pig Roast: Guy Reuge, chef-owner of Restaurant Mirabelle, will not only roast a pig, but also chicken, shrimp, burgers, traditional American sides and apple and pecan pie. $55 for adults, $20 for kids under 12. Reservations required.

Oct. 31, 5 p.m.
Dinner and a show. Stone Creek Inn hosts a three-course dinner before the festival’s closing event, a performance of “Other Desert Cities” by Jon Robin Baitz at the Quogue Community Center. The price for dinner and the show (and post-performance chat with the cast) is $53. Reservations required.
